About Stainless Steel 310/310S Buttweld Fittings

Stainless steel 310/310S is a highly alloyed austenitic stainless steel widely used in high-temperature applications due to its excellent resistance to oxidation under mildly cyclic conditions. The composition of this grade consists of chromium, nickel, and iron commonly referred to as heat-resistant stainless steel. Stainless steel 310 has excellent resistance to oxidation under sustained temperatures of up to 1150°C. This grade’s high chromium and nickel content ensure a good resistance to scaling and a wide range of corrosive environments. The high nickel content also makes it resistant to stress corrosion cracking.

Stainless steel 310S is a low-carbon version of stainless steel 310, which provides improved weldability and reduces the risk of carbide precipitation in high-temperature applications. Its lower carbon content also makes it less prone to intergranular corrosion, making it a suitable choice for applications that require a high degree of resistance to corrosion.
